Fountainhead provides access to third party providers who offer various types of field trips and other enrichment programs.  These are not Fountainhead programs, but solely the programs of the third party provider. The third party provider is solely responsible for the content and activities of the program, although the program may be conducted at a Fountainhead site.  Enrollment in any of these programs is through the third party provider and all amounts payable are paid to the third party provider, with the third party provider also assuming all responsibility for the program offered.

Free On-Site Field Trips

Fountainhead offers access to various on-site "field trips" at no additional cost. These programs are held each year and are available to currently enrolled children. They are presented by outside educational organizations during a series of visits to the school.

Foreign Language Classes

Lango is a language immersion program for kids ages 6 months to 12 years teaching Spanish, French and Mandarin. Lango’s highly engaging classes are taught in the style in which children want to learn: P L A Y ! Structured lessons include games, music, art, stories and dramatic play, all in the chosen language, much like children learn their given language. At Lango your child will learn another language, make developmental strides and explore other cultures. Lango’s classes at Fountainhead are 45-minutes of play-based immersion teaching language basics, as well as ongoing vocabulary and phrases. Each session begins a new theme and set of vocabulary. Lango classes are for experienced and inexperienced alike and most of all, we have FUN!

Sessions are held in a series of 8 classes.  The maximum size per class is 8 and has a minimum enrollment of 4 students per class.  Cost per session is $147.20 per child and accepts children ages 3-6.  You are not charged for child care while your child is in language class.

He received his Montessori Teaching Credential from Sonoma State University in 1988. He has been a head teacher for six years and directed an after school program that focused on creative arts and crafts. He uses the FOSS (Full Option Science System) specifically designed for early childhood.

After-School Kindermusik Classes

We offer after-school Kindermusik classes through Carolyn Lucento at several of our campuses.  Carolyn began her music and dance adventures at the age of 5 and has loved singing and dancing ever since.  She has been a Montessori teacher since 1980 and has been a Site Director with Fountainhead Montessori since 2005.  Carolyn has completed her Preschool and Elementary levels of Orff-Schulwerk children's music training.  She is also a licensed Kindermusik educator and greatly enjoys bringing her love of music and dance to the children.

New Kindermusik units for Spring Session 2013

"Drums, drums, drums!"

In this unit, your child will experience the concept of fractions through hearing and playing quarter and eighth notes. In class we’ll do “call and response” activities to the rhythmic sounds of African music. Meanwhile, your child will sharpen listening and attention skills, as well as fine tune the ear for finding patterns. We will explore many African instruments including a conga drum, "mbiri" (thumb piano) ,"shakeres" (beaded gourd rattles), and cowbells.  Play together with  the activities in your Home Kit, and you’ll help your preschooler develop a strong foundation in math, rhythm and coordination, along with critical listening skills.

"Feel the Music"

For preschoolers, expressing thoughts, ideas, and needs to teachers and friends is a necessary skill in school. So in class we’ll help your child learn more about the words that help describe feelings, while learning more about the emotions of others. In addition, this Kindermusik unit introduces the composer Beethoven and the instruments from the Brass Family: Tuba, French Horn, Trumpet, and Trombone.  Your Home Kit includes the same music and stories we’ll be talking about in class to help you open the door to the emotions your preschooler is learning to express.
