SAMPLE NEWSLETTER: What’s To Come
Welcome to the preschool class! We are excited to begin our new school year, to see our returning students, and meet the new students. The preschool environment is filled with a wonderful group of three, four, and five year olds. The first moth of preschool is really to know you. We will focus on some of the classroom norms so they become second nature to the children.
Here are just a few things we will cover during the month of September:
Intro to each other, to snack, easel painting, In sensorial we will explore: the pink cubes, knobbed cylinders, brown prisms and red rods. In practical life we will practice: whole hand, dry pouring, spooning, tonging objects and dressing frames. In math we will practice 1 to 1 correspondence, red and blue rods.
We will begin to introduce our phonetic sounds in the month of october: s/m/a/t.Our special unit of study will be seven continents of the world.
SHARING SCHEDULE: Thursday and Friday will be our sharing days. Your child may bring in objects that begin with the phonetic sound, the quantity or the symbol of the number, or related to the unit of study that we are studying. The children are encourage to bring educational materials like book, collections, trip memorabilia, photos, etc.
Here is a brief outline of our SCHEDULE. It may vary according to children’s needs and the time of the year.
9:00-9:15 Arrival, greeting, put away belongings, outdoor playtime.
9:15-9:40 Group time: attendance, calendar, and lesson presentation.
9:40-11:00 Free work period, individual snack is open during this time.
11:00-11:35 Outdoor playtime.
11:35-11:45 Group time, story, music, singing
11:45 Children gather their belongings and line up, those who go home go to the pick up area at the front gate.
Children who go to childcare or extended day class are checked in at this time.
